Sirloin Tips

Hearty beef tips in a rich brown gravy with mushrooms and onions. Served over a bed of noodles.

Ingredients:

  • 2 pounds beef sirloin tip roast cubed
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 3 cups sliced mushrooms
  • 4 green onions sliced, whites & greens separated
  • 2 teaspoons minced garlic
  • 2/3 cup beef broth
  • 1/4 cup cranberry juice cocktail
  • 1+1/2 teaspoons soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dijon mustard
  • 2 teaspoons corn starch
  • 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 4 cups egg noodles cooked

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 325F.
  2. Melt the butter in the oil in a large skillet
  3. Brown the meat then place in 2 quart baking dish.
  4. In the same skillet, saute mushrooms, whites of the green onions and garlic just until fragrant.
  5. Scrape everything in the pan and pour over the meat
  6. Cover tightly and bake 1+1/2 hours.
  7. In skillet, mix broth, cranberry juice cocktail, and soy sauce and bring to a boil.
  8. Mix mustard, cornstarch and cream, stir into broth mixture.
  9. Boil for 1 minute, stirring constantly, until sauce is very thick.
  10. Mix sauce in with the cooked beef and stir until well combined.
  11. Serve over hot egg noodles.
