Cherry pie filling, crescent rolls and cream cheese. Yum!

Ingredients:

  • 8 ounces cream cheese softened
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cans (8 ounce) crescent roll seamless dough
  • 1 can cherry pie filling
  • 3/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon milk

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350F.
  2. Grease a 13x9 inch baking pan.
  3. In a small bowl, mix together the cream cheese, egg, sugar and vanilla until well blended.
  4. Unroll 1 can of the crescent roll dough and press into the bottom of the baking pan.
  5. Spread the cream cheese mixture over the dough to within 1/2" of the sides of the dough.
  6. Drop the cherry pie filling by spoonfuls evenly over the cream cheese mixture.
  7. Carefully unroll the other can of the crescent roll dough and place it evenly on top of the on in the baking pan.
  8. Use a fork or your fingers to seal the top dough to the bottom dough along the sides of the pan.
  9. Bake for 30 minutes or until golden brown.
  10. Remove pan from the oven and cool pan on wire rack.
  11. Stir half of the milk into the powdered sugar, add more of the milk, a little at a time, as necessary to moisten all of the sugar and to form an icing that runs in a ribbon off the end of a spoon.
  12. Drizzle icing over the top of the strudel while still warm, but not hot.
  13. Cut into serving size pieces and serve.
  14. Refrigerate any leftovers.
