Honey BBQ Wings

I really enjoyed these, I would definitely try this recipe with regular size drum sticks as well.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon canola oil
  • 1 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 4 tablespoons orange juice
  • 4 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 4 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 4 teaspoons ground ginger
  • 4 teaspoons cider vinegar
  • 2 teaspoons worcestershire sauce
  • 2 teaspoons dijon mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon hot pepper sauce
  • 3-4 pounds chicken wings & drummies

Directions:

  1. Thaw chicken in the refrigerator overnight, if frozen.
  2. Rinse wing pieces and pat dry with paper towels.
  3. In a small saucepan, saute garlic in oil for 1 minute.
  4. Stir in the honey, ketchup, orange & lemon juice, soy sauce, ginger, vinegar, worcestershire sauce, mustard, pepper and hot pepper sauce.
  5. Bring to a boil.
  6. Reduce heat, simmer uncovered for 15 minutes.
  7. Remove from the heat and allow to cool to room temperature.
  8. Place wings in a large ziplock freezer bag.
  9. Add to the bag, 3/4 cup cooled honey mixture or enough to coat all the pieces when laying flat.
  10. Seal bag and turn to coat, refrigerate for 2 hours.
  11. Cover and refrigerate remaining honey mixture for basting.
  12. Preheat oven to 400F.
  13. Drain and discard marinade from ziplock bag.
  14. Place chicken wings on a greased rack in a large baking pan.
  15. Bake for 10 minutes on each side, basting occasionally with honey mixture.
  16. Broil 4-6 inches from the heat for 2-3 minutes or until browned and juices run clear.
  17. Serve warm with dipping sauce of choice.
